PTFE coated hypotubes lubricity assures easy arterial transfer
By Applied Plastics on June 29, 2015

A PTFE coating service for stainless steel and nitinol hypodermic tubing used in medical devices, without altering their physical properties, is being introduced by Applied Plastics Co, Inc. of Norwood, Massachusetts.
Applied Plastics’ PTFE Coating Service precisely applies PTFE onto the O.D. of stainless steel or nitinol hypotubes with 0.0001” to 0.0004” tolerance. Featuring a smooth, highly lubricious coating that assures easy arterial transfer, the coating does not alter the physical properties of the tubing and is available in green, gray, black, and blue colors.
Capable of providing marker bands at user-specified intervals, Applied Plastics’ PTFE Coating Service is suitable for all hypotube variations including spiral, skived, flared, crimped, ground, and slotted types.
In addition to the coating, the firm can source the hypodermic tubing.
Applied Plastics’ PTFE Coating Service is priced according to material, quantity, and special customer requirements. Literature and samples are available upon request.
