By Applied Plastics on June 28, 2015

A highly precise PTFE coating service for stainless steel and nitinol hypodermic tubing that does not alter the tubing’s physical properties is available from Applied Plastics Co., Inc. of Norwood, Massachusetts.
Applied Plastics’ Hypotube PTFE Coating Service applies a thin, smooth coating of PTFE fluoropolymer to stainless steel and nitinol hypodermic tubing to achieve optimum release slip properties. Capable of applying PTFE onto the O.D. of hypotubes with ±0.0001” to ±0.0004” tolerance, the finished hypotubes are available in green, grey, black, and blue colors.
Providing the high lubricity required for manufacturing a wide range of medical devices, the Applied Plastics’ Hypotube PTFE Coating Service can be applied to spiral, skived, flared, crimped, ground, and slotted hypotubes; with marker bands at precise, user specified intervals. Finished hypotubes are chemically inert, bio-compatible, and can operate at up to 288°C.
Applied Plastics’ Hypotube PTFE Coating Service is priced according to material, quantity, and special customer requirements. Samples, price quotations for Teflon coating services, and literature are available upon request.
