A line of bendable, PFOA free Teflon® coated nitinol forming mandrels for fuse welding and tipping operations that withstands high temperatures is available from Applied Plastics Co., Inc. of Norwood, Massachusetts.

Applied Plastics Nitinol PTFE® Natural Forming Mandrels are kink-resistant, making them ideal for fuse welding and tipping operations for long, small diameter medical tubing. Featuring a smooth surface with a 0.5 dynamic coefficient of friction to prevent sticking, these highly bendable forming mandrels are chemically inert and can operate up to 500°F (260°C).

Available in 0.0003” to 0.035” dia., with ±0.0001” to ±0.0005” tolerances, depending upon size, Applied Plastics Nitinol PTFE® Natural Forming Mandrels can be supplied in custom lengths. A proprietary surface preparation process before applying the PTFE Natural® coating assures it will not flake, crack, or peel and PTFE Natural® grey has zero PFOA.

Applied Plastics’ PTFE Natural® Forming Mandrels are priced according to size and quantity. Samples and quotations are available upon request.
