Performance Coatings Surface Properties | Applied Plastics

Performance coatings to enhance corrosion- or chemical-resistance, provide electrical insulation, non-wetting characteristics, or dry lubrication are available from Applied Plastics, Inc. of Norwood, Massachusetts.

Applied Plastics Specialty Performance Coatings are designed to add specific surface properties to parts. Typical coatings include Teflon™ for high lubricity, non-stick, and non-wetting at up to 550F, Kynar™ which exhibits superior strength and toughness, Halar™ for electrical insulation, and nylon for general impact-, corrosion-, and abrasion resistance.

Suitable for parts ranging in size from under an ounce to 2,000 lbs., Applied Plastics Specialty Performance Coatings can be applied from 0.0002” to 0.020” thick, depending upon the coating and substrate. Typical products coated include hypo-tubes, surgical instruments, probes, mandrels, core wires, valve components and housings, solenoids, and process equipment.

Applied Plastics Specialty Performance Coatings are priced according to material, substrate, and configuration; applied in prototype to production quantities. Literature and price quotations are available upon request.
