| Marathoner Bob Hall needed a protective coating for his racing wheelchair. Weather extremes, road dirt, and general wear and tear were taking their toll on the super-light steel frame Bob manufactures for use in grueling athletic events. Traditional paints failed to provide a uniform covering, nor could they withstand the constant abuse of daily use. APC determined that a powdered epoxy coating would provide an abrasion - and impact-resistant surface. Would protect the metal from rust and weather extremes, would provide a more uniform coating, and would not drip or sag at welds joints. Cosmetically, the appropriate coating for the job was available in a variety of bright attractive colors. |
